It has snowed practically every day since Christmas night making Neukirchen and the surrounding area stunningly beautiful - like a big white blanket! Passau, however, has not gotten this amount of snow since it is on the Ilz, Inn and Donau (Danube) rivers. I am hopeful that having less snow will make it a little more pleasurable when I walk from the bus to school this morning. Yep, we're headed back to school today! Only 15 more days until I get to see all my American friends near Bonn for our Mid-year seminar! The flower to the right is on a branch that was cut on the fourth of December (or close to it) as a part of an old German tradition. If the flower blooms on Christmas, you're supposed to have luck for the coming year. I think we cut ours a couple days late and it didn't bloom for Christmas, but it did bloom in time for New Year's! That has to count for something, doesn't it? |
Liebe Grüße,
